ANKARA: Turkey’s operations in Syria will continue until terror organizations like Daesh, the PKK or its Syrian wing YPG are no longer a threat, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a statement released for his Aug 30 Victory Day messages.
“Without discriminating among terror organizations, Turkey is determined to take the steps necessary to ensure the security of its citizens both in the country and in neighboring countries where terror organizations nestle,” Erdoğan said.
Erdoğan also praised the Turkish nation’s unified stance during the failed coup attempt launched by the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ).
Victory Day is celebrated over the Turkish victory at the Great Offensive in 1922 against invading Greek armies, which led to an end of Allied invasion that followed the Ottoman Empire’s defeat in World War I. Daily Sabah
