LAHORE: Ambassador of Spain to Pakistan, Carlos Morales along with Consul General Lahore, Zaheer Salam visited the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade here on Thursday.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen bilateral trade between the two countries. The bilateral trade between Pakistan and Spain was US$ 1.1 billion making it a significant trade partner. Spain bought US$ 800 million worth of textiles from Pakistan in the year 2015, making it the seventh largest buyer of Pakistani textiles in the world and third largest in the European Union.
The Ambassador stressed the need for expanding bilateral trade between the two countries. The ambassador said that a Spanish trade delegation would visit Pakistan this year, adding that the delegation would visit leading companies in Pakistan to explore opportunities for joint ventures and increase trade.
CEO PBIT Amena Cheema assured the Ambassador that PBIT would fully facilitate the Spanish trade delegation. Secretary Industries Nabeel Javed and Secretary Cooperative Babur Basheer Tarar were also present. APP
