Indian police arrest JKLF leaders, activists in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Indian police arrested dozens of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders and activists during a rally in Srinagar, Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) on Saturday.

The JKLF activists took out the rally from Koker Bazar area of Srinagar to protest against the use of pellet guns and pepper gas by Indian forces on protesters in the occupied territory and the detention of Kashmiri intellectual, Prof Syed Abdur Rehman Gilani, by Delhi police, KMS reported.

The protestors led by JKLF Vice Chairman, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, raised pro-freedom slogans. They condemned the use of pallets, tear gas and pepper gas on peaceful protesters, intimidation of Kashmiri students in Indian states and detention of Prof SAR Gilani.
