JICA inks agreement with WASA

FAISALABAD: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has inked an agreement for the preparation of a master plan for Wasa.

The project will cost Rs 50 million and would fix targets to provide water and sewerage facilities to the masses of Faisalabad during next 20 years.

According to a handout issued here Sunday, representative of JICA Mr. Yasuhiro Tojo and Secretary Planning and Development Iftikhar Ali signed the document while Secretary Housing Asim Iqbal and MD Wasa Syed Zahid Aziz were also present.

The managing director Wasa said the previous master plan was for the period from 1992 to 2012 adding that its targets have already been achieved and now it had become necessary to prepare master plan for next 20 years. APP
